My Real Garden is a community book created through the collaboration of a group of gardeners, brought together through a sharing of support and ideas via social media during the early COVID-19 lockdown.
During the first lockdown period I designed and developed my own family garden in Bristol. The process was documented and reflected upon, considering what it meant to be growing a garden as the world seemed to be shutting down. I was chosen to be one of the contributors to the My Real Garden book, with photography and text featured.
Led by garden designer Ann-Marie-Powell, profits from the book were donated to the UK charity Greenfingers, who create therapeutic gardens for life-limited children and their families to improve their time spent in hospices. More about the Greenfingers Charity can be found here.
